Our Church Mission
The Mission Committee’s mission is
...to assist the congregation and its committees in serving the needs of others, both locally and globally;
...to function as a source of information; and
...to guide effort to best use financial and humanitarian resources to benefit humankind and the environment.
The Mission Committee’s Vision is to help those in need, to work to address those needs, and to raise awareness
of our ability to serve those in need
2011 Adult Mission Trip May 1-7
This year again for the 2nd time MCC will be joining United Protestant Church (Grayslake) and Ivanhoe CC in an
adult mission trip. 5500 homes were left uninhabitable in Iowa, during the flood in the Cedar Rapids area, and many remain
that way. United Methodist Church and an organization called Block by Block and others are teaming up to host groups to spend a
week in the Cedar Rapids area rebuilding homes destroyed in the flood. The trip is scheduled for May 1-May 7. It will
take only a day each way for travel to the site. Housing and Meals can be provided by the UMC in the Cedar Rapids area. Everyone
that went on the Adult Mission Trip last year was enthusiastic about the work and the camaraderie. The Mission
Committee is hoping there will be an even bigger response from MCC this year.
Millburn Church has an active Mission Committee with generous
support from its congregation. Our variety of outreach efforts support those
in financial need, comfort those in need of God’s healing hand, and
preserve and protect our environment.
