Adult Education Program, “Atonement: Heart of the Gospels,” Concludes

“PERSPECTIVE AND MEANING: LIVING WITH ATONEMENT EVERY DAY” is the title of the last in this year’s series of Lenten adult education sessions. The prior sessions have led to the conclusion that, “God needs no reparation [blood sacrifice], but human beings must be extracted from their own prison if they are to be capable of accepting the pure gift of [God's] freely offered love.” We will look at that assertion in terms of the “powers” and cultural myths that dominate our lives. Numerous situations from everyday living will be used to invite discussion and reflection. A brief prayer liturgy will close this part of our Lenten journey for 2008. Bring your thoughts and questions. You do not need to have attended prior sessions to participate in this one. Wayne Nowack will serve as leader. Time, date, and place: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, in the Adult Education Room, adjacent to the sanctuary.
