It’s that time of year again and planning is underway for the Millburn Church Christmas Program, The First Christmas Present Ever that will be held during the 10:00 service on December 16. On Dec. 9 we will be having our Dress Rehearsal so the children begin in Lauren Hall at 10:00 a.m. We are asking the Church School children to bring in a dozen cookies to share for the Coffee hour after the Christmas Program. The Christian Education Committee will serve and provide the drinks.

The Christian Education Committee and Church Board have recommended that we send our Millburn Church youth to the UCC’s National Youth Event (NYE), July 24-28, 2008. This gathering of UCC youth from around the country takes place every four years on the campus of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. NYE emphasizes worship, community building and spiritual formation. Youth who will be age 13-18 by July 2008 are invited, along with their parents, to an informational gathering on Sunday afternoon, December 2, at 1:00. Rev. Kris Hewitt, pastor of Ivanhoe Congregational UCC, Mundelein, who has attended NYE both as a youth pastor and a youth, will offer a presentation and answer questions. We’ll meet in Lauren Hall. If interested, please inform either Margo Paramski or Pastor Jed.

Millburn Church has been blessed with many guests and visitors who are seeking a church home. To those who have been joining us regularly, please know that we’re honored by your presence, and that we’d like a chance to get to know you better. Please join us on Tuesday, November 27, at 7 p.m., for an introduction to Millburn Congregational UCC. Pastor Jed and others will be available to discuss how Millburn Church has nourished their spiritual journeys, and how it might do the same for you. If interested, please inform Pastor Jed on Sunday morning, or call the church office during the week. If these times are not convenient, we’ll be happy to make other arrangements. We plan to receive new members on Sunday, December 9. Christ’s Blessings!
