UCC Birthday Party

On Sunday, July 8, from 11:30 to 2:00 p.m., our local cluster of UCC congregations will be gathering at the United Protestant Church of Grayslake for a Picnic Celebration in honor of the UCC’s 50th anniversary. There will be games, a sing-along, an ice cream social and a dance troop from St. John’s UCC, Waukegan. Bring something to grill and a dish to pass. Lemonade, iced tea, tableware, ice cream and hot grill provided. The church is located at 54 South Whitney Street, Grayslake.
Summer Adult Education: What About the Environment?

Join us at Millburn Church for a three-week dialogue on Christian responses to the global environmental crisis. The program, What About the Environment? will take place on consecutive Tuesdays, July 17, 24 and 31, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Adult Education room (the former pre-school room). During the first session we will view Al Gore’s popular film, An Inconvenient Truth. The next two meetings will be devoted to an exploration of the Scriptures and Church tradition in search of a specifically Christian way of engaging global warming and other aspects of the environmental crisis.
