New Members’ Inquiry Class

In recent weeks Millburn Church has been blessed by the presence of many guests and visitors who may be seeking a church home. To those who have been joining us regularly, we’d like a chance to get to know you better. So please join us on Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m. for an introduction to Millburn Congregational United Church of Christ. We’ll meet in Adult Education Room, adjacent to the sanctuary (it’s also the 2nd grade classroom). If interested, please inform Pastor Jed on Sunday morning, or call the church office during the week. If this time is not convenient, we’ll be happy to make other arrangements. We plan to receive new members on Promotion Sunday, May 20, during worship. Christ’s Blessings!

Confirmation Cake Auction

The Confirmation class and their sponsors will be holding their annual Cake Auction on April 15 during coffee hour (following the 10:00 service). Come join the fun and fellowship as the cakes are auctioned to benefit the UCC’s One Great Hour of Sharing. The cakes are decorated in Christian themes agreed to by students and sponsors.
Easter Sunday Schedule

Join us for our celebration of Christ’s Resurrection!
6:30 a.m.: Sunrise Service, led by the Senior High Youth.
7:00 a.m.: Breakfast in Lauren Hall, served by the Church Board. ($5/person)
8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.: Identical Services with Holy Communion. Music by Adult Choir. Nursery care at both services. Church School Classes will not meet.
Maundy Thursday Dinner and Service

April 5: Join us for Maundy Thursday fellowship and worship!
6:00 p.m.: Soup and Salad Potluck
6:30 p.m.: Service of Tenebrae. We will remain at our tables for a Service of Tenebrae, which involves the gradual extinguishing of lighted candles, and reading the biblical account of Jesus’ passion and the events leading up to it.
All are welcome. A sign-up sheet is posted in Lauren Hall.
Monday Morning Bible Study Begins

Monday Morning Bible Study meets from 10 a.m to 11:30 a.m., beginning April 2. For the next several weeks Pastor Jed will be leading a discussion of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Church at Rome (which we call Romans). We’ll shed light on this important book from a literary and historical perspective, but our special focus will be on how Paul’s insights pertain to contemporary life. Adult Education Program for Lent Continues

This year’s Lenten education forum is based on Walter Brueggemann’s new program, “Countering Pharaoh’s Production-Consumption Society Today.” We’ll meet on consecutive Thursdays, March 1, 8, 15 and 22, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., in the Adult Education Classroom.
